Prescriptions

If you have registered for online facilities, you can use Patient Access to order repeat prescriptions. Alternatively, you can email us at wiccg.hmmc@nhs.net.

Requests for repeat prescriptions cannot be taken over the telephone (except for housebound patients). Prescriptions are usually sent electronically to your designated pharmacy – please inform reception if you wish to add/amend your pharmacy.

All repeat prescription requests take 2 working days to be processed and will usually be available after 16:00 on the second working day after being placed. We would appreciate if patients do not call into surgery to collect prescriptions before 16:00 if it is paper-based.

It is important that you select only the items you require. You may prefer to post your repeat prescription request to us enclosing a stamped, self-addressed envelope and then we can post your prescription back to you.

If you wish to deliver your request for a repeat prescription to the surgery, there is a mailbox in the entrance marked “Prescriptions” which is collected regularly – this will save you time waiting at the reception desk. We have arrangements with some local chemists that will deliver prescriptions to the elderly or housebound – please ask at reception for further information.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these medications and notification should appear on your repeat prescription slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
